Domainiana

When you read this yesterday about the outfits that have bought up the domains confirmluttig.com, confirmwilkinson.com, confirmalito.com and so on, you naturally wondered who owns the domain name confirmolson.com. Didn't you?

It was registered May 31 with Go Daddy's "Domains by Proxy" service, which allows registrants to remain anonymous. The index page at that domain is a "coming soon" Go Daddy page.

In the week leading up to May 31 the Washington Post ran a story about likely nominees to replace Chief Justice Rehnquist. Included were Olson, Luttig, Wilkinson, Roberts, McConnell, Garza and Thompson. So the domain name could have been registered in anticipation of an Olson nomination, but none of the other names were registered then. (confirmthompson.com remains available, while confirmmcconnell.com was registered on May 12 by a Trilennium Productions).

Who owns confirmolson.com?
