SCOTUS quiz results update: Owenpalooza!

More than 8,000 tests run as I type, thanks mostly to a link at Bench Memos -- not a link here, though that's what I sent 'em, they save their links to blogs that say the test is screwed up -- and so far, the blogosphere prefers Judge Owen*:

through 8,057 votes

Owen 32%
Jones 21%
Williams 14%
Callahan 8%
Luttig 5%
Brown 4%

It's been neat seeing how some of the bloggers I read regularly, and even some others, came out. Dave J. was well and truly pleased. Crank scratched his head but a commenter at his site called the test "fascinatingly accurate." That's what I was going for! Gerry Daly got Miguel Estrada. We could do worse! Lots and lots of Red Staters took the test, going by my Sitemeter. Ryan S., like entirely too many other people (it's not a bug, it's an undocumented feature), got Judge Callahan. Ken put the thing up shortly after I did, and got Judge Williams. "And she's a looker, too!" That she is!

So it's been fun to see, even when NRO seems to think these things write themselves, and even if I can't so much as catch the eye of Article III Groupie, which would make me way happier than a link on NRO, I tell you what.

*Naturally, this not being a scientific test, or even on the four or five rungs on the ladder before you get to "scientific," this is not true. It's accurate to say instead that "lots of people are getting Owen when they take the test."

I take it that my preferred choice, Michael McConnell, wasn't an option. I did really have to labor (on subsequent tries) to see if the quiz would give me a male judge.

Actually, I'd be equally happy with Jones or Estrada, and I'm cautiously optimistic about some of the others I know less about, like Williams, Clement, Boggs and Garza. (I like Luttig, but he'd never get through; Brown would be a disaster on several levels). But subsequent tries kept giving me Batchelder, Callahan and Brown until I hit the NO WOMEN thing and got Luttig.

McConnell is in there. Overall I'm happy with how it turned out but it's too difficult (as you noticed) to get him, and too easy to get Callahan.

(stomps feet indignantly) you should have consulted me on this! I am a forms (diaries and quizzes too) designer with extensive background in data management although you prolly needed a statistician.

That aside, kudos for getting mentioned on NRO, if that is kudoable.

My result was Williams. Ain't gonna happen. This next nominee is going to be a blood-dripping bone thrown over the right shoulder to the ravenous anti-abortion rights or prayer in schools crowd. At least, that's what the Chicken Littles are saying.
