Silflay Hraka is coordinating his final Carnival of the Vanities during the last week of December. He's asking whether anyone would want to take over, otherwise Charles won't have to come up with any esoteric facts about numbers on Wednesdays after 171. I wonder if the COTV, the grandaddy of them all, has become too unwieldy. On the odd occasion I contributed to one, I didn't get many hits off it, though when I hosted in July it was well received and trafficked (even without an Instalanche). There are dozens of more niche-y carnivals out there that make it more worth your time, if they embrace a subject you're interested in.

Maybe if the COTV continues in 2006 the new honcho will have some out of the box ideas. Or maybe my instinct is wrong and COTV doesn't need changing.
