Watcher's Council best posts week ending November 3

The Watcher's Council selected these best posts from among those nominated for the week ending November 3.

A three-way tie! Watcher chose Wilson-CIA Cover Up? at Strata-Sphere as this week's Council winner. In a week of tough choices I voted for A.J.'s post, too.

OK, if - and this is all speculation here folks - Wilson was assisting folks in Pakistan, Libya and the AQ Kahn network in acquiring uranium, and the French were getting close to finding the deal out - some forged documents in 1999 pointing to Saddam would throw them off the trail real nicely.

Explosive speculation! "And absolutely nothing to back it up!" Strata concludes. Maybe there is -- see his update. The blogosphere at its best is a bunch of smart people thinking out loud. Posts at Dr. Sanity and Gates of Vienna tied for second.

And a tie for first in the Non-Coucil category, too! Cathy Seipp's by now famous post And Antoher Thing was chosen, a post no one ever wanted to read.

Cancer does have a couple of upsides. One is that you can put the fear of God into people with hardly any effort at all, and occasionally, I have to admit, I do this when they start waving their illusions around in front of me. "But... but... you never smoked? Not at all? So then... you lived with a smoker, right? You worked in a bar?" Etc. Mostly I just smile and answer the usual series of "no"s. But sometimes I say, "I know you’re looking for a reason why you’ll never get this, even though I did -- sorry, can’t help you."
