Watcher's Council results February 3, 10

It wasn't that long ago that I was promising Watcher's Council (what?) results in a more timely fashion. You can't trust a word I say! Here are the last two weeks' worth of winning and other worthy links.

For those posts nominated February 1, 2006:

New Sisyphus' statement of the case in the Cartoon Jihad matter, Our Liberties Are Our Liberties, Even if, and Especially if, That Pisses Mohammed Off, won best Council post by a smidge. Dr. Sanity's fisking Guess What, Professor Cole? placed. Also of interest among the finishers: The Sundries Shacks' liveblog of the Flight 93 movie and Shrinkwrapped's exploration of how the best impulses of liberalism have made more limited war difficult. Check them out, they haven't gone stale since I've slacked off posting.

Neo-neocon's opus A Mind Is a Difficult Thing To Change -- Part 6 B (After 9/11: War Is Interested In You) won best non-Council post. Villainous Company -- she's back? -- was runner up with Not Joel Stein's Kind Of Men.

Full results and lots of good links here.

Among the nominees announced February 8, 2006, The Strata-Spehere's excellent 2006 Democrat Contract With Al Qaeda won best Council post on a tiebreaker, edging Shrinkwrapped's The Academy Awards, Pan-Sexuality, Narcissism, & Loneliness. The Anchoress' Wellstoning the King Funeral won best non-Council post. Also check out two posts tied for second, The Pathetic Last Children of Nietzsche's Pitiable Last Men at One Cosmos and Dean Esmay's Islam and Freedom and Democracy. Full results here.
