If the season started today
... wait, it does. Ok, if my eight-team, NL-only, 40-man-roster, head-to-head fantasy league season started today -- it starts Friday -- my lineup would be:
Renteria ss
Winn rf
M. Cabrera 3b
A. Jones cf
Utley 2b
Giles dh
Murton lf
Barrett c
A. Gonzalez 1b
Gonzalez is keeping first base warm till Nomar is off the DL and qualifies. Hatteberg is taking up space as a backup backup in the meantime. I can see Felipe Lopez playing in place of Renteria now and then, and Willy Taveras getting in there when I need stolen bases (which you sometimes do in the fantasy world). Edwin Encarnacion can sneak in at third and Cabrera go to the outfield if that makes sense in a given series.
Peavy
Capuano
Lowry
Bush
Ra. Ortiz
J. Johnson (Fla)
Turnbow
Ponson and Tony Armas also available to start, and Benitez to close once he's off the DL. Also stashed Kerry Wood. Am not at all thrilled with the pitching. Still have 10 more players to draft tomorrow night, can be guys not on a 25-man roster or DL.
The fantasy league posts won't be going on all season, I promise.
