Liberals: Bad for hockey in Canada

This comment is too clever to be fact-checked. Click here and scroll down to "stephen."

Has anyone noticed that the last time the Oilers made it to the Conference Finals the Conservatives were in power in Ottawa?

Once the Liberals ascended to high office the Oilers began a downward spiral which lasted over a decade.

In fact, since 1993, the last playoff series under a Federal Conservative Government, no Canadian team has won Lord Stanley's hardware.

Now with the Conservatives back in power winning ways are returning to the City of Champions and the prospect of a Canadian team winning the Cup is not that much of a stretch.

Bottom line: Liberal government is apparently bad for Canadian and Oiler hockey.

On the other hand, longtime readers will remember that the best argument for liberalism I've ever seen would fail in the United States because it used a hockey analogy.
