Equal protection for mutants
This (via Volokh) should be rewritten by somebody with (sorry, Uncanny) X-Men #129-137 burned into their brain from childhood. And for whom reflexive 1L disdain for conservative stuff has worn off. (Dahlia Lithwick is out!) Maybe I'll take up the challenge in time to host Blawg Review next week. Fair use, right?
The X3 movie got me to order some recent story arcs from eBay(*). Here's what I've learned has happened in the 23 years or so since I read X-Men (or any) comics.
- They bring Jean Grey back to life every four months or so. Evidently, she's very popular with the comic buying public.
- There are only about seven mutants left in the world anyway. The Scarlet Witch evidently went hookie and made all mutations disappear.
- One is still Kitty Pryde, who's become quite the attractive young woman. (Well, she has.)
- Joss Whedon -- Joss Whedon! -- is writing the comic now. (His first 12 are supposedly on their way here.)
There, now you don't need to pay to catch up.
(*) Phoenix Endsong, House of M. Both well done. They don't talk as much in comics today. And no thought balloons.
