Having frozen the likes of Hee Seop Choi, Jorge Sosa and J.D. Drew (at $30!) in my NL-only 5x5 roto league, I've spent most of the year making sure that kind of thing doesn't happen again. Among the candidates to be frozen going into next year's auction:

and if they close, Taylor Tankersley at $10 and Kerry Wood at $19. With those two that's $191 for 16 players (we can olnly freeze 15, so there would be some trading going on in the offseason), which would leave $89 to buy nine more, particularly a couple thumpers and maybe a reliable starter. Good shape.
